Bryan Rogers Obituary

Joe Bryan Rogers, age 66, of Sour Lake, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was born in Pamona, CA on November 15, 1956, and raised by loving mother, June Rogers.

A friendly, happy, and just plain wonderful man, Bryan spent his life doing what he could to live for others and to love. Resting in his heart and mind were a great wealth of stories, for he was a gifted storyteller and could recount one for most of life’s occasions. He took time with folks, meeting new people often and using whatever opportunity presented itself to strike up a conversation. When you talked with Bryan you had his undivided attention and interest, even if it disrupted his schedule, which was not an uncommon occurrence. Growing up together, he knew the love of his life, Sherry, from their childhood. They went to church together, and their families knew each other well. Their first date was an invitation from Bryan to go waterskiing with he and some others; Sherry agreed to go, and from that day forward they were inseparable. They sealed their love in marriage on November 3, 1979, walking together through life’s journey. Their love blessed them with their beloved children and grandchildren, and he was affectionately known as “Pa-paw”. There were two channels that he stayed tuned into, Hallmark and Fox News. He was a sweets man, a chocolate lover, and at any given time a search around the house may uncover his stash of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. Many fond memories were created with his family in his most cherished vacation destination, the Smoky Mountains. He loved the beauty and peace of seeing the mountains. Though Bryan has passed from this life, he left a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife and soulmate, Sharon Luquette Rogers; son, Joshua Rogers and wife, Rachel; daughter, Amanda Rogers and fiancée, Michael Monk; mother, June Rogers; brothers, Curtis Dale Roach and wife, Debbie, Douglas Roach and wife, Mary, and Barry Dean Rogers; sisters, Laura Randalls and husband, Buddy, Cindy Luquette, Terri Weber and husband, Jeff, Peggy Clubb and husband, Keith, and Janna Kay Rogers; grandchildren,  Jude Bryan Rogers and Abigail Julianne Rogers; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Bryan in death is his daughter-in-law, Kyndra Sue Rogers; granddaughter, Kaylee Sue Rogers; and brother-in-law, David Earl Luquette.
