Brenda Ann Bolar

Brenda Ann Bolar, age 63, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1961, in Navasota, TX, to Eustacio Valdez Ostigin Sr. and Aurora “Dora” Baldobino. 

Born with a heart that knew no bounds when it came to caring for others, her compassion and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Brenda selflessly gave her time and love to those in need. On April 30, 1989, Brenda married her husband, Eddie. Their union was a testament to her nature and the patience and long suffering of love. Together, they created a family filled with warmth, laughter, and devotion. Brenda's involvement in her family's lives was unparalleled. She was a constant source of support, joy, and fun. Brenda had a remarkable talent for decorating. She made every holiday, wedding, and special event a memorable and beautiful occasion. Easter was her favorite holiday, and she made it an extraordinary celebration for her family and the entire neighborhood. Her creativity and attention to detail brought magic to every gathering. An exceptional cook, Brenda was known for her delicious Roast Beef, Chili, Gumbo, and Lasagna. Brenda's kitchen was a place where love was shared through hearty meals and cherished memories. A devout Christian, Brenda exemplified the true meaning of faith and grace. She was a true lady, carrying herself with dignity and love. Her presence brightened every room, and her laughter was a melody that lifted spirits. Brenda's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories and a heartprint on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Brenda will be deeply missed but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Left to honor Brenda’s memory is her husband, Edward Thomas Bolar; daughters, Candice Biddle and husband, Brian, and Stephanie Portis and fiancé, Torreyon Barrett; mother, Aurora “Dora” McGrath; brothers, Eustacio Ostigin Jr., Stash J. Ostigin, and Thomas Ostigin and wife, Maria Guevarra Alvarado; sisters, Annette Pimentel and husband, Rudy Sr., Myrna Lopez and husband, Alex, Fermana E. Ostigin, Eva A. Ostigin, and Carina Ostigin; grandchildren, Skye Parr and husband, Bradley, Jerry “Boogie” Biddle II, Taylor Adams, and Joshua Smith; great-grandchild, Preston Parr; nieces, Melinda Pimentel, Shannon Hale and husband, Marquell Sr., and Kori Ostigin; nephews, Jeremy Bolar, Brandon Bolar, Rudy Pimentel Jr., and Jonathan Pimentel; best friend, Tanya Crites; step-mother, Maria I. Ostigin; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Eustacio Valdez Ostigin Sr.; son, Jason Alwell; and daughter, Naomi Ostigin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Flowers, Xavier Cumpian, Jonathan Pimentel, Rudy Pimentel Jr., Joshua Smith, and Steve Wilburn. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry “Boogie” Biddle II.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Brenda's life honoring funeral will be Friday, January 10, 2025, beginning at 2:30 p.m., also at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Cunningham Cemetery.
