Branden Michael Hancock

Branden Michael Hancock, 28, of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. He was born June 14, 1991 in Santa Rosa, CA to Shannen Shapiro and Bill Hancock. Branden was the second of five children and grew up a well-loved young man. While finding himself and his purpose in life would be a life-long process for Branden, none can dispute how loving and funny he was. Branden was quick to bring a smile to other's faces and often had a quick quip or comment for almost any situation. When not making others laugh or smile with his crazy antics, Branden could be found fishing or longing to be fishing! Water was the ever-changing enigma that called to Branden constantly and gave him and his family and friends many happy hours and fond memories reeling in good catches. It was not uncommon to find Branden trekking over to Louisiana whenever he could find time and opportunity to fish at his favorite spot. Life dealt its fair share of challenges to Branden, but those who knew him knew he was nothing if not persistent, kind, compassionate, and considerate. Branden was a lovable young man with a big heart and the world is surely a lesser place without him. 

Left to remember Branden Michael Hancock is his father, Bill Hancock of San Angelo, TX; his mother, Shannen Shapiro of Vidor, TX; his siblings: Christopher Hancock and wife Shaylah Rene-Ortega of Seattle, WA, Erin Hancock of San Angelo, TX, Kaitlyn Shapiro of Vidor, TX, and Aidan Shapiro of Vidor, TX; his niece, Rosalie of Seattle, WA; his grandparents: Glen King of Bastrop, TX, Pamela Brinkley of Vidor, TX, and Cheryl Ann Wilkins of Pearland, TX; as well as numerous friends and extended family members.

Preceding Branden in death is his grandfather, Billy Jack Hancock; his step-grandmother, Jan King; and his great-grandparents Buck and Madeline Miller.

To honor the life of Branden Michael Hancock, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pine Forest Baptist Church, 4800 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Pine Forest Baptist Church, 4800 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662 with internment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662.
