Bobby Earl Kreger, born February 16, 1940, in Houston, TX, grew up in Beaumont, and Lumberton, TX. He devoted his life to his family, his work, and his community.
Bobby worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Beaumont, retiring after 30 years, and was known as a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. He made sure his children always had what they needed and carried that responsibility with steady dedication. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his favorite beagle, Sam, and fishing on his favorite lake, Sam Rayburn, and he was well known for his love of fishing and the stories that came with it. Bobby also had a lighthearted side and enjoyed teasing and poking fun at himself, bringing smiles to those around him. Bobby was tough but fair and generous with his time, particularly in helping local youth through 4-H beginning with his own kids and later with his grandkids. He took pride in assisting kids as they raised animals for the Southeast Texas State Fair, offering support and guidance over the years. He really enjoyed working with the kids from Boys Haven for many years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Left to honor his memory is his beloved wife of 66 years, Dolores Kreger; daughter, Kellie Rhodes and husband, Jimmy; son, Richard Kreger and wife, Vicki; 7 grandchildren, Nacona McAdam and husband, John, Cody Rhodes and wife, Lindsay, Shelby Yarbrough, Claudia Valencia, Jason Merendino and wife, Jamie, Justin Merendino, and Jamie Chandlee and husband, Blake; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Erline Kreger; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
