Billie Jo Bates Reedy, 65, of Lumberton passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Billie was born on October 30, 1955 in Louisiana to Bill and Bessie Bates. Growing up in a larger family, Billie always understood the value of family and it was always a core part of who she was. Billie was blessed to have married the love of her life, Jeff Reedy, and had a beautiful marriage of 37 years. Jeff and Billie had two daughters that would be the focus of Billie’s world from the moment they entered into it. From birthday parties to sideline cheering, Billie was always going and doing for her daughters and later her grandbabies. Mimi as she was affectionately known, was a dependable source of love, amusement, and surprises for her grandchildren. Billie was artistic and talented in the kitchen, she could pick up a fishing pole or relax on the beach anytime you gave her the opportunity, but perhaps most well-known was her undeniable support and love for her Dallas Cowboys! Billie had a bright smile and kind heart that will not soon be forgotten, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 37 years, Jeff Reedy; her daughters, Schree Marshall and husband Tommy, Jessica Potter and husband Matt; her mother, Bessie Bates; her sister, Becky Roubieu; her grandchildren, Aiden Marshall, Parker Foyt, Tate Marshall, Wyatt Foyt, Jaden Potter, Matti Potter and Codi Potter.
Billie was preceded in death by her father, Bill Bates; her brothers, William Bates Jr., Wendall Bates, and Wade Bates.
