Beverly Jean (Blum) Theriot

Mrs. Beverly Jean (Blum) Theriot, 74, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Beverly was born in McCool Junction, Nebraska on January 2, 1947. Beverly graduated high school in Colorado and settled in southeast Texas in 1975. Beverly was a caregiver and the matriarch of her large family. A dedicated nurse for more than 50 years, Beverly graduated from Lamar University with her BSN; she always had a particular love for caring for the elderly and even started her own home health business later in her career which she operated for more than 15 years. Beverly was an adventurous and energetic character who loved her family more than anything. “Always up for the next adventure” and ready to tackle any obstacle, Beverly was an avid animal lover because “what’s one more?” when you are talking about saving an animal in need; the local animal shelter in Beaumont was a particular favorite of Beverly’s. When not working, Beverly was most likely to be found in her gardens and yard where she loved to work and make notes to add to the “honey-do” list for Larry her beloved husband. Larry often found himself caught up in the sweep of Beverly’s energy and ideas; Beverly often saw things out in her hunting for treasures and would quickly ask Larry if he could make that for them, and indeed he did! She loved to travel when she could, often inviting herself to tag along to trips to see beautiful places such as China and Europe. Known as “T-Ma” to her grandbabies, Beverly was definitely the fun grandmother who would do anything with her grandbabies. Beverly’s life was a beautiful testimony to the impact a loving wife, mother, T-Ma, nurse, philanthropist, and friend can have on the world around them and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beverly leaves behind her loving husband Larry John Theriot; her mother, Irene Louise (Pike) Orsborn; her children: Kelly William Ensinger and wife Tonya Gayle of Lumberton, Donna Christine Flaherty and husband Timothy Patrick of Edgewater, MD, Dane Allen Theriot and wife Michelle of China, and Christie Michelle Theriot-Hollyfield of Lumberton; her beloved grandbabies: Shannon Flaherty, Jake Flaherty, Clay Ensinger, Kamryn Ensinger, Brittany Stewart, Cade Theriot, Kayla Theriot, Charlee Hollyfield, and Mason Hollyfield; as well as a host of friends, co-workers, patients, and extended family members through the years.

Beverly is preceded in death by her dad, Thomas Kelly Orsborn.

Beverly's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.
