Barbara Jackson Obituary

Barbara Ann Jackson, age 78, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1947, in Brady, TX, to Melton and Bessie Gordon Rogers.

A devoted mother, proud “Granny,” and a woman of faith, she poured her heart into every moment that she shared with her loved ones. Barbara was strong and quietly resilient. She worked hard, never complained, and carried herself with grace. A good cook, she was beloved for her delicious fried chicken and hermit cookies. Barbara believed that a person could never have too much chocolate. A big slice of chocolate cake was one of her greatest pleasures. Her one true love was her husband, Carl. Their story began when he was home on leave from the military. He saw her, asked if she was taken, and somehow already knew in his heart that she was the woman he would marry. While he served abroad, they wrote each other constantly. He returned home; they married in June of 1965 and shared nearly 30 beautiful years together before he passed. Barbara carried his memory with her always. She lived a life of service; to her family, her church, and her community. She was dependable, showing up, stepping in, and helping however she could. Whether volunteering as a den leader for the Boy Scouts, assisting with vacation Bible school, or simply protecting and guiding those she loved, she gave her all. She spent many years working in the car industry for various companies, retiring in February 2023. Above all, Barbara was a Christian and lady. She lived her beliefs. She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her laughter, her cooking, and the way she made everyone she loved feel cherished. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with Carl, the love of her life, and that her spirit lives on. Barbara’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will endure.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deborah Hall and husband, Michael, and Kerry Mefford and husband, Scott; brothers, Robert Rogers and wife, Barbara and Jackie Rogers; grandchildren, Joshua Myrick and wife, Heather, Jessica Hall McGee and husband, David, Kori De Salvatore and husband, Michael, and Jackson Bonvillion and wife, Megan; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters in law, Barbara Rogers and Eileen Rogers; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Barbara in death are her parents; husband, Carl Dean Jackson; brothers, Jimmy Rogers and Jerry Rogers; and grandchild, Kady Myrick.
