Barbara Hardy Obituary

Barbara Ann Hardy passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Lumberton, TX at 79 years old. She was born on February 13, 1940 in Pawnee, Nebraska to Donald Eugene Younkin and Thelma Elizabeth Arthur Younkin.  She graduated from college in Seattle, Washington where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Barbara met Rodney, the love of her life and were married on March 31, 1987 in Alvin, TX.  They loved to travel and spend time together at the casino. She enjoyed spending hours watching Nascar and Football, cheering on her favorite team, the Saints.  A woman with a big heart, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and made sure they knew it.  As much of a lover of people, she had a bit of a mischievous side and loved to agitate her son-in-law, who she referred to as her son, “Sonny.”

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Lyle Thomas and wife Kelly of Calera, AL; Glenn Thomas and wife, Jennifer, of Calera, AL;  Lucas Thomas of Corpus Christi, TX; daughters, Kathy Williams and husband, Sonny, of Sour Lake, TX; sister, Lisa Thomas of Baytown, TX; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.

Preceded in death are her parents, Donald Eugene Younkin and Thelma Elizabeth Arthur Younkin; her husband, Rodney Joseph Hardy, and daughter, Christi Thomas Ringuet.
