Ann Martel passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019. She was born on February 3, 1946 to James Orvis Miller and Lester Lorean "Powell" Miller in Brookeland, TX.

Strength emanated from Ann, she was a lighthouse to her family in the many storms of life. She was an unforgettable person to anyone who ever met her. Mom was a strong, independent, opinionated, hard working woman, and a true faithful friend to so many.   Ann could often be found in the garden, using her God given ability to grow anything she put her hands on. She loved her critters which included 5 dogs, 1 cat and a bird. Ann worked as a waitress for many years. Some of her favorite hobbies were playing bingo in Beaumont. TX. She was notorious for being an extremely good pool player and she was an excellent dancer. Her favorite meal spots were Waffle house and Munchies Ole, which she never got tired of. She was a wonderful Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and friend; she will be missed dearly.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Sophia Martel Baumann;step- daughters, Jaime Renee Dancey and husband, Donald, and Marilyn Bauman; brother, Larry Miller and Hope Craft; sister, Debra K. Miller Smith; grandchildren, Sabria Loran Martel Bauman; step-grandchildren, Colton Ray Parker, Kaci Maylin Parker, Kaylin Renee Parker, Tyler Bauman, Marissa Bauman; step-great-grandchildren, Brantley Olen Stanfill and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Paul Eugene (Gene) Martel and David Lynn Smith.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday February 7, 2019 at the Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main Lumberton, TX 77657. A service honoring the life of Ann Miller Martel will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday February 8, 2019 in the Lumberton Funeral Home Chapel with a final resting place at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, TX.
