Amanda Kay Wilcox Goodman, 44, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2020. She was born on August 20, 1976 in Beaumont, Texas, to Larry and Donna Wilcox.
Amanda was a woman who deeply held a passion for life that was fueled by her unyielding and constant faith in God. Never was there a time when she was not ready to lend a helping hand or offer a few kind words when they were needed. Amanda was a loving mother and a caregiver at heart. Whether it was one of her own sons, or one of the many children she helped teach at church camps, Amanda was always the first person they would turn to when they needed help. She selflessly devoted much of her time outside of her family to assisting her church family at Faith Baptist Church with everything from church events and children’s programs, to yearly camps. Her talents and skills were limitless, as there was nothing she could not do. Amanda was blessed to share her life with her loving husband and life partner Rusty, for more than 29 years. A true lover of art, when she painted it was created with the essence of beauty and imagination that Amanda embodied. She lived her life with such jubilance that no matter what adversity she faced she would always be smiling; quick with a laugh in almost any situation. Although Amanda’s time on Earth was short, the impact she had in the lives of many was great, and she will not be soon forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Rusty Goodman of Vidor; her parents, Larry and Donna Wilcox of Vidor; her sons, Jacob and Jordan Goodman of Vidor; her sister, Pamantha Stroud and husband Shannon of Lumberton, as well as numerous friends and church family.
The family will have a private memorial to honor Amanda’s life.
