Myrtle Aline Loftin, age 81, of Silsbee, TX, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born in Call, TX, on July 31, 1944, to Haywood and Eunice Long Young.
Humble and content, Aline found joy in the simple things and was deeply grateful for all she was given. Her easygoing nature and outgoing spirit made her a joy to be around, and she never hesitated to believe in the goodness of people. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Born in Call, Texas, Aline spent most of her life in Silsbee, where she was a cherished and steady presence in the lives of those who knew her. Aline had a love for classic country and rock 'n' roll, particularly Elvis Presley and Hank Williams Sr. The rugged charm of Marshal Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke captured her heart; once she discovered the show, it became her favorite, and she never looked back. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was "Grandma Aline" or "Mawmaw". She adored them all and made sure her children knew they were deeply loved. Their devotion to her was a testament to the love she poured into their lives. Aline appreciated the little pleasures: a good meal, a cold Coke, and the company of those she held dear. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were lucky enough to know her.
Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Gwendolyn Smith; son, Darrell Lynn Leviness and wife, Odie; sister, Brenda Gore and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Dylan Leviness, Marrissa Leviness, Natasha Leyendecker and husband, Luke, Edwin Smith, and Cody Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyleigh, Kruz, and Judd; former son law, Edwin Smith to whom she will always will be, "Old Timer" and wife, Alisha; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Aline in death are her parents; husband, Raymond Earl Loftin; and grandson, Justin Smith.
