Aaron Lee Allen

Aaron Lee Allen, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. He was born on July 9, 1940, in Beaumont, TX, to Frank McKinley Sr. and Edith Estelle Smith Allen.

A passionate advocate for animals, dedicated jokester, and devoted friend, he left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Aaron's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to animal welfare. He supported numerous causes to help both wild and domestic critters and kept a home full of pets, showcasing his boundless compassion. Aaron was renowned for his humor. Known for his elaborate pranks, he could entertain anyone with a seemingly endless supply of jokes, never repeating the same one twice. His ability to bring joy and laughter was a gift to all who knew him. A lover of a good meal, Aaron held everything he ate to the high standard of his momma's cooking, tolerating others' efforts but always reminiscing about her dishes. He was always on the move, driven by wanderlust and a deep love for the road. His faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was devoted to his church and the Gospel and firm in his beliefs. A history buff with a keen eye for political movements, he had an exceptional memory and a deep appreciation for the past. One of Aaron's most cherished relationships was with his best friend's son, James. Aaron and James shared a bond that was akin to that of father and son. As Aaron's age began to catch up with him, James welcomed him into his home with open arms and without hesitation. Aaron was unique, unforgettable, and truly one-of-a-kind. His spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched, the animals he cared for, and the laughter he inspired. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Left to honor his memory is his beloved nephew and best bud, James Vincent and wife, Angela; brothers, Billy Allen and Robert Eugene Allen and wife, Rachel; cherished niece, Donna Allen; his dog, Max; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Aaron in death are his parents; brothers, Frank Allen Jr., John David “J.D” Allen, Jimmy Allen, and Ronnie Allen; sisters, Vera Allen, Mildred Sutton, and Lillie Mae Allen.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Aaron’s life honoring funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2024, also at funeral home. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery.
