Virgie M Stutts

Virgie M. Stutts, age 72, passed away Tuesday August 22, 2017. She was born to Terrell T. Poole and Creole M. Hampton on June 25, 1945 in Calcasieu Parish, LA.

Virgie had several different career paths throughout her life. She was a bartender, welder and during her later years, a home health provider. She loved to take care of people and was a strong leader. If you asked her for advice, she would tell you exactly like it is and exactly what you needed to hear with her strong loving spirit. Her kindness showed in the way she loved her family, especially her sisters. She loved babies, children and animals. Her dog, Sugar, meant the world to her. Her children held a special place in her heart. Virgie loved the outdoors. Swimming in the river, shooting guns and rifles or sitting by the campfire looking up at the stars was a favorite past time.  Music and dancing were also things she enjoyed to do. Virgie was a faithful servant and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Left to honor Virgie's memory is her lifelong loving companion and soul mate of over 40 years, Larry C. Lee of Vidor, TX; son's Nathan and David; daughters, Jenny and Cricket; sisters, Bilbie Chesser and husband, Harold, of Hemphill, TX, Bobbye Whalen and husband, Jack, of Troy, MO, Wanda Gregory and husband, Harold, of New Castle, IN, Brenda Shriner of Lumberton, TX, and Olissa Poole Smith and husband, Les, of Beaumont, TX; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Preceding Virgie in death are her parents, Terrell T. Poole and Creole M. Hampton; daughter, Daisy; and sister, Alissa Dyson.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday August 27, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657. Virgie's life honoring service will be 11:00 am Monday August 28, 2017 also at the funeral home. Internment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery Orange, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Alton Kendall, Nathan Shriner, Jed Garig,  Andrew Goldsberry, Charles Hester and Michael Bearden II.

Honorary pallbearers are John Henry Bailey and Larry C. Lee
