Victoria Ione "Vicki" Jasken

Victoria Ione Jasken (Vicki), 52 of Silsbee, Texas, passed away with family surrounding her on February 17th, 2017 at her brother’s home in Arizona. In late 2016, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastrointestinal Cancer, which began her hard fought battle.

Vicki was born July 2nd, 1964 to Leander and Carley (LaDue) Jasken. She was raised in White Earth, Minnesota, and graduated in 1983 from Waubun High School. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where she started her family. While there, Vicki opened a home daycare. During her daycare days, she grew very strong relationships with families and kept in contact with many over the years. Vicki moved her family to Texas in 2002. Although Vicki considered Texas her home, she never forgot her love for Minnesota football. She was a Viking fan at heart, and brought that love to Texas with her. She also was a huge Neal McCoy fan. She went to so many of his concerts, Neal knew her by name. Mardi Gras was another passion of Vicki’s, especially when her Minnesota family came to visit.

Vicki started working at Silsbee Goodwill in 2003 as a Retail Sales Clerk. In 2005, she was promoted to Assistant Manager, and 2006 to Store Manager. In 2010, Vicki transferred to Lumberton Goodwill as Store Manager where she remained. She accomplished Supervisor of the year in 2007, 2008 and 2011. Vicki and her team accomplished Team of the Year in 2013 and 2014, then Store of the Year in 2015. She was very passionate for giving back to her community through Goodwill where she touched the lives of many co-workers, clients, and community members.

Vicki was strong, independent, and hard-working. During difficult times, she never backed down nor did she give up. She decided her own path in life, and she was always true to herself. She was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished sister. Vicki has left a void in all the lives of those who knew her. She will be missed.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Heather (Keith) Clark of Lumberton, and Carley Jasken of Lumberton; granddaughter, Hallie Jasken of Lumberton; good friend and father of her children, Dale Danielson; siblings, Diane Lange of San Diego, CA, Julie (Don) Zimmerman of Park Rapids, MN, Joe Jasken of Detroit Lakes, MN, Danny Jasken, of Blackstone, MA, Charlie (Pam) Jasken of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Mark Jasken of Chino Valley, AZ; and her little puppy and best friend, Ellie May.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leander and Carley Jasken; grandmother Naomi LaDue; and neice, Brittany Ann Aker.

The family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Ray McNames.

A funeral and Catholic mass will be held in Minnesota on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, where her ashes will be laid to rest.
