Vernon Ray Ruark Jr.
1955 - 2019
Vernon Ray Ruark Jr., age 63, passed away on January 25, 2019. He was born in Alexandria, VA on November 5, 1955 to Vernon Ray Ruark Sr. and Ruth Eleanor Chandler Ruark.
Vernon loved life; he cared about his guns, his bikes and his dogs. He met Joyce, his wife, in 1997, and they shared over 20 years together. From the day he met Joyce, he would often tell people that she saved his life. Vernon was a good guy that always attended family functions. There was never a kid that met him that did not like him, and he loved children just as much. Everything that he ate he liked it to be burnt, except for his medium rare steaks. A regular at Academy Sports + Outdoors, they knew him there on a first name basis. He enjoyed going to the shooting range often. During his long career as an electrician, he provided for his family. He will be missed by those he loved.
Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 9 years, Joyce Ruark; son, Scott Ruark and fiancé, Wendy McCracken, of Castle Rock, CO; daughter, Reannon Ruark of McGregor, TX; sisters, Karen Thompson and husband of Dallas, TX and Linda Leap of Omaha, NE; and numerous step-children, grandchildren and extended family.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frannie Ruark.
At Vern’s request, he will be cremated without services.
