Velma Margaret Luckey

Velma Margaret "Willey" Parsley Luckey, age 75, beloved sister and friend, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. She was born December 16, 1941 to Van Vertis Willey and Nannie Catherine Clark in Gist, Texas.

Velma was an avid fisherman and loved camping out and fishing with friends. She was happiest when sitting on a riverbank fishing or cooking over a camp fire the catch of the day. Other hobbies include embroidery and gardening. Velma was born with a green thumb and could grow a plant from the smallest cuttings. She often brought seeds or plants when visiting her family.

Velma is survived by her children, Alta Fay Adams (Earl) of Houma, LA, Margaret Kay Bass (William) of Hemphill, TX, Hooper Jackson Parsley Jr. (Rebecca) of Michigan, and Emma Elvira Luckey (Harold) of Silsbee, TX; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Joe Willey (Ramona), Fletcher Willey (Marlene);sister, Elsie O'Neal(Bobby) all of Buna, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hooper Jackson Parsley Sr.  and William Samuel Luckey. Also, grandson Jason Henson; sisters, Glenda Kay Willey and Linda Gail Willey.

Visitation with family and friends will be 9:00 am Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657. Graveside service will be 11:00 am at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred TX.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert Willey, David Willey, Brandon Willey,Justin Procter, Roscoe Marshall, and William Bass.
