Thomas Lynwood Grant

Thomas Lynwood Grant, 78, of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017.  Lynwood was born on October 21, 1939 in Beaumont, Texas to Thomas Oscar and Inamay Grant.  He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy; he loved his country and was very patriotic.  Lynwood was a quiet, reserved man who enjoyed sailing, playing chess, and computers.  He loved his family very much and was very protective of them, even after they were grown.  Lynwood had a small circle of friends that he loved dearly and that love was reciprocated.  He was a dedicated employee for Gulf States for over thirty years, and could be seen every Monday mowing his yard.

Lynwood was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Oscar Grant and Inamay Budd; a sister, Suzie Purdon.

He is survived by his sister, Melnee Grant, of Beaumont; brother, Glen Grant of Lumberton; sister Janis Dunigan of Vidor;  son, Wade Grant and wife, Susan, of Arizona; a daughter, Andrea Carruth, and husband, Darren, of Lumberton; an “adopted daughter”, Treasure Francis, and husband, Cazzy, of Nederland; grandchildren, Justin Carruth, and wife, Megan, Bryant Carruth, and wife, Naelyn, Thomas Grant, Skye Francis, Blaize Francis, Matthew Carruth, Lydia Grant, Megan Grant, Channing Grayce Francis, James Grant ; great grandchildren, Shae LeDoux, Luke Carruth, and Grace Carruth.
