Robert Edward Rochford, II, 59, of Lumberton, TX passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Robert was born on September 18, 1959 to Robert Edward and Geraldine Theresa Rochford in Glendale, AZ. He met Donna Baker at a local restaurant, and they would fall in love and marry on October 4, 2002. Pawpaw as he was known to his grandchildren, was a kind husband, dad, step-dad, and of course, Pawpaw. Robert was easygoing and laid back, he liked to travel, eat out, go to the movies, play golf, and loved his swimming pool. He enjoyed music, especially artist from Austin and Texas. He was creative, liked photography, and was known to be a thoughtful and unique gift-giver. Kristi, one of his step-daughters, said he was an amazing stepdad. His sister Cindy said he had a sense of humor and was a baseball fan who loved the Houston Astros. Robert was fond of telling Donna “Have a Peaceful Rest” when she was going to sleep. He was always there for his family and they will miss him dearly.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert, and Geraldine Rochford; mother and father-in-law, Darrell, and “Bettye” Baker; and an uncle, William “Rocky” Rochford.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Rochford, of Lumberton, TX; two sisters, Cindy Skogman and husband Doug, of Friendswood, TX, and Dina Reddick and husband John, of Spring, TX; daughters, Nicole Hilario, and husband, Fredy, of Hernando, MS, and Alyssa Lewis, and husband, Jacob, of Hernando, MS; step-daughters, Joni Zapf, and husband, Adam, of Lumberton, TX, and Kristi Kelley, and husband, Kevin, of Industry, PA; grandchildren, Katelyn and Emma Hilario, Weston Lewis, Trenton Kotlarz, Kaila Zapf, Tristan and Dakota Vincent; as well as other family members and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 5;00pm to 7:00pm in the Chapel of Lumberton Family Funeral Home.
