Robert DeWayne Ferguson

Robert DeWayne Ferguson, 57, of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019. Robert was born in Many, Louisiana on March 28, 1961 to Robert and Bobby Ferguson.  In August Robert and his loving wife Danita would have celebrated 40 years of marriage. 

Robert was a dedicated hard worker, he worked as a millwright, and as a wrecker truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his passion was dirt track racing.  Playtime Racing was the name of his racing team.  Robert’s team was very different from most; his team and pit crew were composed of teenagers.  If there were young people having troubles and problems, he would put them on his team and help give them focus and direction.  They not only were his pit crew, they helped build the cars and maintain them. 

Left to remember Robert, his loving wife of 39 years, Danita Ferguson; two sons, Daniel Ferguson, and Michael Ferguson; as well as other family members and friends.

A memorial service honoring the life of Robert Ferguson will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God located at 1055 US 69 in Kountze, Texas. The family asks everyone to bring their photos, memories and favorite side dish, BBQ will be provided.
