RJ Ladner, 71, of Buna, TX, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Rudy was born on September 25, 1946 in Bay St. Louis, MS, to his parents Mrylin J. Mauffray and Ona Mae Mauffray who have both preceded him in death.
RJ arrived in Buna, Tx 26 years ago by way of Long Beach, Mississippi. He was an avid fisher, hunter, and gardener. RJ was a,”good ol’ corn fed country boy who had zero filter.” He never met a stranger and if he did, he would happily give them the shirt off his back. Every job needs a supervisor and RJ was keen on self-appointing himself for that position. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was race cars, having past experience working on them and racing them fueled his love for them. RJ had a down to earth nature and was an all-around good guy. If you knew RJ, it was apparent that he was always ready to cut up and if you were spending any time with him, you should always be ready to eat whether you want to or not. His greatest achievement was that of his legacy, including his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. RJ married his childhood sweetheart, Alice, and was happily married for nearly 50 years.
Preceding RJ in death are his parents Mrylin J. Mauffray and Ona Mae Mauffray, and brother; Nelson Ladner.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Ladner; Son, Herman Ladner and wife Dana; Daughter, Wendy McAnally and husband Craig; brothers, Kenneth Ladner, Verlon Mauffray and wife Debbie, Mrylin Mauffray and wife Wanda, Tony Mauffray and wife Susan; Sisters, Marianne Hatfield and husband Tommy, Carolyn Mauffray; Grandchildren, Brett Ladner, Haylee Ladner, Josh McAnally and Brooke Hone; Great-grandchild, Conner McAnally.
