Phillip Davis Obituary

                                                                              Phillip Wayne Davis

Phillip Wayne Davis, age 61, passed away on March 5, 2019. He was born on November 5, 1957 in Jasper, TX to Joe Frank Davis and Martha Ray “Cochran”.

Phillip was a good man, he enjoyed the simple things in life and loved God. Phillip worked as a truck driver for many years and was able to travel across the United States multiple times over, often bringing his niece, Rebecca along for the ride. He loved Rebecca like she was his own daughter, their adventures included feeding the ducks at the pond and Chuck-E-Cheese visits that started with a hundred-dollar bill and ended with priceless memories. Phillip truly cared for his nieces and nephews, during his sickness he was reunited with his niece, Toshia, after nearly 30 years. Despite his sickness, Phillip displayed his true strength in his ability to smile and stay positive no matter his condition. Phillip found strength in his most enjoyable memories, when he was just a boy, he lived with his grandparents during the school year. He and his grandfather would set trot-lines in the Sabine river and each day they would fish for catfish. On their return home, Nanny always had dinner ready to fill the angler’s appetites. With no TV, video games, or movies, Phillip reminisced of the happiest time in his life. His remaining family finds peace, knowing that he has been reunited with his mother and grandparents in heaven.

Left to honor his memory is his father, Joe Frank Davis; brother, David Wayne Davis; sister, Angel Baker; nieces, Toshia Davis, Rebecca Baker and Chad Ailstock; great-nieces, Macelyn Ailstock, Raelyn Ailstock; life-long friend, Tracy Miller and wife, Kitty.

Phillip is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Ray Davis; grand-parents; brother, Timothy Joe Davis.
