Perry "Jake" Williams, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on June 30, 2017. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Lumberton Texas. He was born in Beaumont Texas on January 22,1927. He was the 1st of 5 children born to Perry Floyd Williams Sr. and Edna Lee McSween Williams.

Jake's life mission was to serve the Lord with his entire heart and spread his message to every ear he could. He succeeded. He lived by the words of Luke 21:20-32, often paraphrasing, "If you don't know Jesus, according to God's Word, your time is running out". This lead to his faithful and passionate service of volunteering as an Outreach Minister. He would take food, water, his Bible and an occasionally Grandkid or two, to the homeless communities of Beaumont to share the love of Jesus with those in need. He printed business cards that simply read "JESUS IS THE ANSWER'' to hand out on his missions. Serving the homeless allowed "PawPaw Jake" to show God's Love as Jesus did and to let everyone know that someone loved them.

Jake proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, 343 Engineer Corps during WW2 in France and Germany. One of the highlights of his tour was being able to sit in on the Nuremberg Trials presiding over the military tribunals of Rudolf Hess, Deputy Fuhrer to Adolf Hilter. This honor allowed him to witness, first hand, justice being served for the atrocities inflicted on the Jews at that time. After his Army career, he worked for many years at Caraway Motors as a Sales Representative, followed by many more years in Oil Field sales. Hunting, fishing and gardening were a passion that Jake enjoyed his entire life. His ponds, gardens and rocking chair lined back porch were his favorite places family time.

For 70 wonderful years he was married to the love of his life, Nola a.k.a. 'Baby'. They met, and he immediately planned a creative way to ask her for a date. He had a friend who owned a Crop Duster Plane, so Jake and his friend, flew over Nola's house and he threw a rock out the window with a Love Letter tied to it asking her to go out with him. It worked flawlessly. The rest is a beautiful history of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Jake will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will continue through the love he showed to his family, friends and strangers.

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 70 years, Nola Boyett Williams of Lumberton, TX; children, Michael Lynn Williams of Lumberton, TX, Charlotte Ann Williams Driggars of Nederland, TX and Gary Wayne Williams and wife, Misti, of Lumberton, TX; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 and a half great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Edna Williams; sisters, Edna Maria Coleman and Rachel Louise Brown; brothers, Ervin Andrew Williams and Perry Lee Williams.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Sunday July 2, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main, Lumberton, TX. Jake's Life Honoring Service will be Monday July 3, 2017 at 10:00 am at Freedom Fellowship Church, 8137 FM 418, Silsbee, TX, officiated by Pastor Shannon Kirkpatrick. Interment will follow at R.S.
