Paula Jean Anders McGlothin, age 66, passed away on September 27, 2019. She was born in Beaumont, TX on September 9, 1953 to Earl O’fell Anders and Mary Alice Harper Anders.

Sociable, loving and selfless, Paula was a homemaker most of her life after marrying her sweetheart, Bruce, on July 22, 1976. They had known each other since childhood, and their love produced three children. She was happy to be a mom, and while raising her children, she devoted herself to supporting them, encouraging all their academic, athletic and social activities, and cultivating their childhood memories that each of them fondly remember. Her skills at sewing and craft loving nature helped her as a mom, making her daughters Easter dresses, Prom dresses, and cheering them on as a dugout mom and homeroom mom. After Bruce suffered a life changing injury, Paula went to work at Orangefield ISD to help support her family, retiring after her many years in the cafeteria. If Paula felt like talking, she would, and everyone that she would engage with knew her well. Losing her beloved Bruce in 2018, Paula spent the last portion of her life surrounded by her three children. Family was her everything, and her children will always remember her love for them and all the fond memories that she leaves in their hearts.

Left to honor her memory are her loving children, Kerri Pierce and husband, Mike, of Vidor, TX, Melissa Mills and husband, Jake, of Orange, TX and Matthew David McGlothin of Vidor, TX; grandchildren to whom she was known as “Grammy”, Cade Mills, Mia Pierce, Grayson Mills, Addison Pierce, Jozie McGlothin, Isabelle Mills and Cash McGlothin; close family friend, Arthur Dew; and numerous extended family and friends.

Preceding Paula in death is her loving husband of 41 years, Bruce McGlothin; her parents; brother, Jerry Anders; and sister, Kathy Anders.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2019 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St, Lumberton, TX 77657. Paula’s life honoring service will begin at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Chaplain Mark Adams officiating.
