Patrick Wall Obituary

Patrick “Pat” Wall

1970 - 2019

Patrick Steven Wall, age 48, passed away on May 28, 2019. He was born in Beaumont, TX on November 24, 1970 and raised by his parents, Paul D. Smith and Kathleen Wall Smith.

Fun-loving, hard working and loyal to his family, Pat lived his life enjoying the good in every situation. He lived on the lighter side of life, and though stubborn at times, he was caring and compassionate, expressed most fully in his loyalty to his family and love for them. Growing up, especially in his early years, as the only brother two his sister’s, Nicole and Tabitha, he would never fail to tell them that he was the favorite; he was a “Momma’s boy” and enjoyed spending time with his mom, while simultaneously, true to his jokester nature, pranking his beloved sisters. Later in life, he would welcome in stepsiblings, another sister, Donna, a daughter and, as a loving “Papaw”, a granddaughter; through the tough times and the good times, he loved them all and was fiercely loyal and protective of each of them. A proud U.S. Marine, he served for 4 years, from 1991 through 1995, fighting in Operation Desert Storm and the conflict in Somalia. Loving to express his confidence in his handsomeness and physical abilities, Pat would amaze others, most often his sisters, in his self-fortitude and lack of hesitancy in expressing his confidence. Though he gave his sisters a hard time, their time together was fun, with many special memories, and he would translate his confidence and love to lifting them up, often telling them how beautiful they were and how much he loved them. He was always dancing; from his break dancing in his youth to taking his daughter, Katelyn, out dancing, Pat would dance to any form of music. He loved to read, most recently reading A Song of Fire and Ice novels, source of the television series A Game of Thrones. As Pat leaves many memories in the hearts of his loved ones, though he is gone, as he would often say when reassuring his loved ones, “It’s ok!”…. “It’s ok”. All that he loved will miss him, until they see him again.

Left to honor his memory is his loving daughter, Katelyn Wall, his “Turkey Head”; father, Paul D. Smith of Vidor, TX; sisters, Donna French and husband, Randy, of Vidor, TX, Tabitha Butler and significant other, Jerry Meulemans, of Vidor, TX, and Nicole McGowan of Vidor, TX; step-sisters, Patricia Jacobs and husband, Russ, of Hawaii and Paula Holley and husband, Jordan, of Hawaii; step-brother, Paul “Bubba” Smith of Maryville, TN; granddaughter, Ariana Garcia; and numerous aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by his mother and nephew, Kason Worsham.
