Nell Rita Ritter

Nell Rita Ritter, 95, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017. She was born July 17, 1921, in Beaumont, to Louise Aguillard Stafford and Pierce Dominic Stafford.

Nell was a vibrant, passionate, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved the beauty of the outdoors and had a passion for music. Nell’s smile and generous heart would brighten any room. She touched the lives of every person she met whether it was with a lifelong friend or a chance meeting.

Survivors include her sons, David L. Ritter, Don L. Ritter and wife, Dianne, daughter, Bonnie R. Drake, all of Beaumont; son, Thomas R. Ritter of Los Angeles, California; niece, Linda Bruce of Deer Park; grandchildren, Christie Ritter Shoemaker and husband, Fletcher of Beaumont, Nick Drake of Houston, Benjamin Ritter of Durham, North Carolina, Charles Soucek of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Julie Soucek of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Nell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Roy Ritter; two brothers, P.D. Stafford Jr., and Louis L. Stafford; and two sisters, Beatrice Witkovski, and Mary Louise Graham.

Her family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Friday May 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 13, 2016 at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, officiated by Dr. James Fuller.

Honorary pallbearers are Fletcher Shoemaker, Michael Rice, Don Ritter, David Ritter, Thomas Ritter, Ben Ritter, Michelle Rice, and Leigh-Ann Hill.
