Morris "Sonny" L. Middleton

Morris L. “Sonny” Middleton, 75, of Lumberton, passed away Friday April 21, 2017. He was born April 21, 1942 in Harlan, Kentucky. He was a self-employed businessman. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially bluegrass and gospel. He was an avid outdoorsman, he liked to hunt, fish, and watch the birds. He was very knowledgeable about trees and plants.  He was totally selfless, he was always helping and thinking about others. He was very well-known and well-liked. He loved life in general, and was much loved in return. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Cecil Middleton; and 7 siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years, Shirley Middleton of Lumberton; children, Tonya Fuller and husband, Terry of Beaumont, and Shannon Middleton of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kalynn Dickert and husband, Michael, Hannah Middleton, Shane Fuller, and Macie Fuller; great-grandchild, Konner Dickert; sister, Merrell Hill and husband Glenn of Fairborn, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial gathering is scheduled for Monday April 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.
