Michael Joseph Swiger, age 66, passed away on January 11, 2020. He was born in Beaumont, TX on October 20, 1953 to Joseph and Glady Jacks Swiger.

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 31 years, Catherine Joan Swiger; daughters, Christina Bunner and husband, Charles, of Lumberton, TX and Karen Hinch and husband, Darin, of Vidor, TX; stepmother, Mary Swiger, whom he loving referred to as “mom”; brothers, JC Statum Jr. and wife, Lynn; sister, Sherry Willey and husband, Don, Debbie Brister and husband, Don, Judy Lemp and husband, Don, and Barbara May; grandchildren, Ashtin Taylor, and husband, Brandon, Kaitlyn Wimberley and husband, Daniel, Paige Bunner and husband, Troy Lutz, Andrew Hinch, and Ryan Bunner; great-grandchildren, Caden Bunner, Eli Lutz, Coale Taylor, Carson Taylor, Maeven Wimberley, Ella Lutz, Charlie Taylor, Petra Wimberley, Lana Elliott, and Amaya Elliott; and a host of extended family, friends and loved ones.

Preceding Michael in death were his parents and sister, Diane Coleman.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2020 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX. Michael’s life honoring service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Eastgate UPC, 290 South St., Vidor, TX, and burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Harpers Chapel Cemetery, Hemphill, TX.
