Michael Bryant, Sr.

Michael “Mike” Bryant Sr., 62, of Vidor passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Mike was born February 14, 1955, to parents Dona and R.V. Bryant. A lifelong resident of Vidor, he was an avid carpenter and had worked for ten years building houses with Steve Nichols Construction Company. Mike was passionate about hunting and fishing, loving to spend time at the deer lease in Hemphill. He loved drinking coffee while sitting and visiting with his lifelong best friend, J.D. Rogers. He also had great joy in telling stories about his hunting adventures.

Mike had two boys that he loved, Mikey Jr. and Willis Bryant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dona Marie Bryant and R.V. Bryant.

Mike is survived by his two sons, Michael Allen “Mikey” Bryant Jr. and wife Ashley and Willis Arve Bryant, all of Vidor; a step-daughter, Amber Brakhage of Vidor; his grandchildren, Jaylynn Bryant, Michael Bryant III, Braylon Bryant, Hunter Bryant, Triston Brakhage, Maddox Lane, Ethan Lane, Kaitlenn Bryant, and Kaden Bryant, all of Vidor; his brothers, Ronnie Bryant, Byron Bryant, Jack Bryant, and Jim Bryant, all of Vidor; and his sister, Cindy Bryant of Vidor.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Nichols officiating.
