Marvin Daniel Riley

Marvin Daniel Riley, 85, of Kountze, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 28, 1931 in Hardin County. He met the love of his life, Dorothy and married in Kountze, Texas on October 5, 1950. Marvin was an iron worker and member of Iron Workers Local 125. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a hard worker and a good man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Riley of Kountze; sons, Danny Riley and wife, Barbara of Kountze, and Tommy Riley and wife, Renda of Kountze; sisters, Joyce Carlisle of Longview, TX, and Frances Tillery of Vidor; brothers, Jimmy Riley of North Dakota, and Wayne Riley of Silsbee; 6 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Happy Valley Church on Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Robert Hall. Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery of Kountze.

Serving as pallbearers are T.W. Riley, Dylan Smith, Jacob Riley, Colten Smith, Mason Smith, and Lonnie Scalisi. Honorary pallbearers are Des Smith and Dave Smith.
