Linda Catherine Perkins Redding, 62,  went home to rest on the evening of Friday, March 17, 2017, surrounded by her close family at The Gardens, Altus Hospice Center in Beaumont, Tx. She was preceded in death and born to parents Bertha Guillory Perkins and Bruce W. Perkins of Louisiana.

Linda was a long time resident of Beaumont, Tx, though she had lived, laughed, and made friends in the many places she’d called home in her younger years. Linda resided right outside of the Beaumont city limits with her husband, Mike, and their pets, whom Linda held dear to her heart as she would any of her family. She was a barber by trade, but held many positions over the years from dealing cards in Las Vegas, cleaning houses, and tending bar at her favorite place down the road. She was considered a “Jack of all Trades,” in that aspect. She had a brave soul and a kind heart that made an impression on so many. She was a strong and thoughtful wife, devoted mother, giving friend, unsung philanthropist, and an impactful spirit to all who met her.

Linda had a passionate heart, which carries on in her memory through her loved ones; daughter, Amanda K. Franklin, husband Michael A. Redding, as well as her beloved Angellia Moore and husband Joey Leslie, Kimberly Kiker and husband Gary Kiker, Christopher Redding, Nicholas Redding, her several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to carry on in her devoted spirit. She also left two older brothers, Carol Perkins and Noel Perkins in her passing, whom she loved dearly. A special mention is also dedicated to her friends, whom she held as dear to her heart as family, nephew; Wesley C. Perkins and neice; Tessa R. Duvall, whom she loved as her own.

A memorial gathering for Linda will be held at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton, TX from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with no formal service. The memorial will be open to anyone who would like to share stories, prayers, or any other words for Linda in her memory.
