Lillie "Cookie" Fontenot

Lillie “Cookie” Fontenot, age 73 of Silsbee, TX, passed away on Saturday, July 7th, 2018. She was born to James and Madelyn Adair on September 1st, 1944 in Port Arthur, TX.

Cookie was a Southeast Texan her entire life. She was a free spirit, loved by so many that crossed her path. Her giving nature was clearly seen by so many. As a clerk, Cookie made a great deal of acquaintances with people from all walks of life, yet her loving spirit-built bridges to all of them. Cookie’s faith in God brought her through all life’s tests, while she visited many churches throughout the years her faith could best be described as just being a Christian. Her loving attitude could be quickly lost if anyone had the audacity to mistreat her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. While Cookie loved fishing and had happily visited every pond in Silsbee, TX, the people who really knew her were aware of her favorite past-time, penny-slots at the casino. While her health waned, her vibrant outlook on life did not, if you were to check the trunk of her car, you would find a fishing rod and tackle box, ready for the next adventure.

Left to honor her memory are her son; Larry Woods and his wife, Gina; her daughter, Lisa Woods; her step-daughters, Sharon Slay, Susan Robicheaux and her husband, Joey; her brothers Robert Wade Adair Sr. and wife Carolyn, and her sister Sandy Swearingen and her husband Merle;  her grandchildren Matthew Williford and wife Amber, Kimberly Lockwood and husband Wes , Ashley Woods, Alex Buckner and wife Jessica, Tessa Buckner and Keely Odom and husband Jimmy; her great-grandchildren; Collin Williford, Aden Williford, Lily Buckner, Jase Buckner, Warner Williford, Lacy Buckner, Travis Williford and her best friends, her beloved cats: Callie and Sassy .

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Madelyn (Daigle) Adair and her husband; Warner Fontenot and; her brother, Henry Adair, and the father of her children, Lawrence Ray Woods.

The family would like to invite all friends and family to attend a life honoring memorial service on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1-3 pm at the Silsbee Community Center, 835 Highway 96 S, Silsbee, TX 77656. 

At this time the family is requesting all flower deliveries and cards be sent to 8810 Reed Ranch Rd., Silsbee, TX 77656.
