Larry Don Taylor, Sr.

Larry Don Taylor, Sr., 73, of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018.  Larry was born on March 31, 1945 to JC and Grace Taylor in Beaumont, Texas.  Larry served his country honorable and faithfully in the U.S. Navy. 

Larry was described by his children as man who loved his family.  Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, zydeco music, and football; especially the Dallas Cowboys.  Larry was family-oriented man and was a great Grandpa.  He had a great, dry, sense of humor; it is said it was hard to tell he was joking sometimes.  Larry believed in being tough, standing on your own two feet, and he also believed that “your word is your bond.” 

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Taylor; and his parents, JC and Grace Taylor; brothers, Jerry Taylor, Jim Taylor, and Tommy Taylor.

Larry is survived by a son, Larry Don Taylor, Jr., and wife, Lynelle; daughters, Lucretia Taylor Guzman, and husband, Marcos, and Katherine Duke, and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Ashley Weber, Jonathan Taylor, Bradley Taylor, Taylor Bragg, and Travis Bragg; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Taylor; sisters, Judy Bryant, and Kathy Phelps.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Chapel at Lumberton Family Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 4;00pm.
