Kobee Tyler Cohen, age 13, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Kobee entered this world on June 15, 2006 in Beaumont, TX. He was a bright, vibrant bundle of joy that would go on to become the inspiring young man who blessed us with 13 years of laughs, smiles, trophies, goals, badges, and moments to love and remember him by.
In just these few years, Kobee has been not only an inspiration to those closest to him, but a light in the lives of so many. A delightful boy with widely varied interests and hobbies, Kobee put his faith in God above all else, finding so much support and love in his church family and even school family. A true nature lover, Kobee loved to be active outdoors! He was a true hunter and fisherman, from duck hunting to fishing and took so much pride in his skills showing off what he got to take home. Kobee loved to cook and was even known to have cooked his own catches! Kobee was a proud member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 85 here in Beaumont, and was well on his way to become an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed all sports and was always willing to play anything, but he was particularly fond of basketball. Those who knew Kobee best knew this to be another of the many families of friends and loved ones that would always be there for Kobee. Of all Kobee’s great ambitions in life, becoming a veterinarian and attending school at Texas A&M was a constant and driving passion of his. Kobee wore the maroon of A&M with such pride and loved cheering on his Aggies whenever he could. While Kobee didn’t realize his dream of graduating from A&M, we all know there was a giant “Whoop” in Heaven when he joined the many who loved him there. Kobee had a huge heart and loved all of his family and friends and while he will be missed by many, especially his sidekick and constant companion German Shepherd Apollo, his bright life is a light that won’t soon extinguish.
Left to remember his bright eyes and sweet smile is his mother, Laurie Blanchard; father, Ryne Cohen; grandparents, Hadley and Melinda Cohen; grandfather, Joseph Blanchard; great grandmother, Sharron Oelsen; aunts, Aimee Grubbs and husband Jason, Becky Jorden and husband David, and Christine Cohen; loving sister Kaitlyn Elizabeth Kelly; and an overwhelming number of family members, church family members, school family members, scout family members, and sports family members whose support and love has been ever present.
Preceding Kobee in death is his grandmother, Constance Blanchard (Stropolo); great grandfather, Jerry Oelsen; and great grandmother, Minyon Cohen.
