Kenneth Wayne Richardson

Kenneth Wayne Richardson, 72, of Lumberton passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Kenneth was born May 9, 1947 to Vivian Doreen (Newton) and James Aubrey Richardson in Jasper, Texas. A life-long Texan at heart he spent over 44 years in the Southeast Texas area. Growing up one of three children, Kenneth learned the value of family at a young age. Soon after graduating High School Kenneth enlisted with the US Army where he would go on to serve 2 tours in Vietnam and 2 tours in Germany. As a US Vietnam Veteran Kenneth was extremely proud of his service and the service of all those who served before and since; Kenneth never passed a veteran or active duty service member without stopping to thank them for their service to our great country. Once home Kenneth married the love of his life Ann, and together they had two beautiful daughters. Never forgetting that family was the center of everything, Kenneth enjoyed his various roles as husband, father and eventually Paw more than most everything else in his life. When not engrossed in spending time with family you might find Kenneth golfing or fishing, perhaps watching Jaws for the millionth time, enjoying the classic westerns with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood or even indulging in his love of chick-flick movies with favorites like You’ve Got Mail. But most likely of all, in his later years you’d find Kenneth riding his tractor down the way to visit with every neighbor he could find. All those who knew Kenneth knew his love for his wife Ann to be a driving force in his life second to nothing else except maybe his devotion to his role as father and grandfather. Kenneth was the best fan of any sport played by one of his children or grandchildren that any child could hope to have, and Paw made every game he could without fail. For those lucky enough to have known Kenneth, he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

To honor Kenneth's life, a visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main Lumberton, TX 77657. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main Lumberton, TX 77657. Internment with full military honors will be at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, TX immediately following the service on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
