November 9, 1969 was the day Jose Alberto Cortinas was born to Jose Mauricio Cortinas and Isabel R. Cortinas. The youngest of five siblings, he possessed a heart of gold. A heart that learned and accepted that God loved him and learned to trust God and His will.
"Betico," to mom and dad, "Baby Brother," "Little Brother" or "Albert," to his siblings, "Tio Albert" to his nieces and nephews, and "Jose" to his friends. But no matter what you knew him by, he was the most beautiful person you would want to know.
He had very few friends and very few people really knew him, but anyone and everyone who crossed paths with him immediately felt joy and pleasure in knowing him. With his heart of gold, he would give you, if he saw you were in need, the little he had, all he had, or something he never ran out of, a listening ear and comforting conversation.
He would want us to remember him as kind-hearted, loving, giving, smiling and laughing, but most of all, he would want us to remember that he loved his family dearly.
His prayer was that God grant him more life to show everyone that he believed in God and that he believed in miracles. He was the walking, talking, ever-so-joyful person that was and is the very proof that God can change a person, give them a new heart and mind. He was the very proof that God could complete restore someone who was willing. It was the unconditional love of God that gave him the peace and comfort that assured him of his salvation and the confidence to call himself a child of God.
Well, BETICO, BABY BROTHER, LITTLE BROTHER, ALBERT, TIO ALBERT, JOSE, WE WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU AND NEVER FORGET YOU.
Rest in peace...we will live anticipating the day when we see you again in glory.
