Joe E. Guillory, 77, of Lumberton, passed away April 29, 2017. He was born January 11, 1940 in Voth, Texas. He grew up in the Golden Triangle area and settled in Lumberton where he raised his family. He was a very giving and loving man. He ran his service station for many years, Guillory Mobil. He later retired as a truck driver and loved traveling all over the country. He was a volunteer for the Lumberton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World. He enjoyed tinkering with computers. He had an amazing sense of humor, he liked pulling practical jokes and could be a little goofy sometimes. He loved his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Laura Ann Guillory; his parents, Joe and Irene Guillory; son, Joseph “Jake” Guillory; grandson, Joseph Guillory Jr.; great-granddaughter, Raylyn Nugent; and siblings, Anna Marie Guillory, and Jerry Guillory; siblings, Frank Guillory and Margaret Moilanen.
He is survived by his loving children, Larry Guillory and wife, Jeanette of Warren, Peggy Guillory and husband, Jeff of Lumberton, Tina Guillory-Tate and husband, Clint of Walker, LA, Dennis Guillory and wife, Kim of Vidor, and Phillip Guillory and wife, Daisy of Rye; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Guillory-Hall of Texarkana, AR; and extended family members, Glenn and Glenda Hodges, and Bob and Angie Grisham.
The family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
