Jennifer Luke Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Luke

1990 - 2019

Jennifer Lynn Ruiz Luke, age 28, passed away on August 19, 2019. She was born in Beaumont, TX on December 12, 1990 to Joe Angelo Ruiz and Kimberly Lynn O’niell Gonzalez.

Barefoot and beautiful, Jennifer viewed life through a lens of love and devotion to the people that the Lord blessed her with. Her innately bright and elegant smile, expressing a deep inner beauty, brought light in the room wherever she went. She wanted everyone to be happy, and devotedly lived her life to love those around her; constant in her care and faithfulness, she was always there for her loved ones. Family had a special place in Jennifer’s heart; being raised by her “Popy” and “MawMaw”, she grew up in Kountze and attended school there. During those formative years, she met the love of her life, Josh Luke. Jenny Lynn loved Josh with every fiber of her heart, dedicating herself to their longtime relationship and eight years of marriage. That love would produce their beloved daughter, Jayden; the greatest mother, she loved her baby girl, pouring on her every ounce of affection that she could. Jennifer worked hard in life, with that hard work manifesting itself in every area of her life: serving a long-time, successful employment at Sonic in Kountze; possessing an unquenchable desire to be faithful in her Christian walk; and through the ups and downs of life, fighting for the love that she shared with her darling Josh, precious daughter, and all of her family that considered her the sweetest blessing and most beautiful thing on this Earth. Talented, she loved to draw, paint, bake, and cook, and though a great cook, her favorite food was always a trip to Kotoyama in Lumberton, where she would enjoy her ever-favorite Kihlua and Philadelphia sushi rolls. Jennifer, with her inherent green thumb, could put a twig in the ground and it would grow, planting many flowers and plants around her family home, many of which still remain. Jennifer’s beauty, caring and sweet nature, and love impacted all that she leaves behind. The memory of this amazing, faithful lady will remain warmly in the heart of every one that was blessed by their moments with her.

Left to honor her memory is her loving husband of 8 years, Joshua Edward Luke; daughter, Jayden Marie Elizabeth Luke; father, Joe Angelo Ruiz of Beaumont, TX; mother, Kimberly Lynn Gonzalez and husband, Abel, of Pasadena, TX; brothers, Joe Angelo Ruiz Jr., Nicholas Ruiz, Abel Dominguez, and Michael Gonzalez, all of Beaumont, TX; sisters, Josephine Ruiz and fiancé, Salvador, of Beaumont, TX, Joanna Hernandez and husband, Cesar, of Beaumont, TX, Lacey Iline Rhymes of Kountze, TX, and Brittney Nichole McCabe and husband, Daniel, of Tully, NY; grandmothers, Leeann Mitchell of Pasadena, TX, Lynn Nelsson of Kountze, TX, and, beloved “MawMaw”, Iline Marie McDaniel of Kountze, TX; father and mother-in-law, Kevin Sr and Denise Elizabeth Luke of Kountze, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin Jr and Shelby Rae Luke of Kountze, TX; and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones.

Jennifer is preceded in death by grandfather, Jackie Ray “Popy” McDaniel.
