James Young

 1982 ~ 2018

James Douglas Allen “Jay” Young, age 36, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 28, 2018. He was born on August 30, 1982 in Beaumont, Texas to Doug and Becky Young.

James had a big heart but could be very stubborn at times. He was the best brother and was very protective of his sister, Jennifer. James was a wonderful husband, an amazing Dad to his children and had a wonderful relationship with is nephews; Jacob, Austin, Kolby and Karson. He loved football and was a huge Houston Texans fan. When James wasn’t working, he loved to fish and he was an avid gun owner. If you knew James, you knew him to be fun-loving, a great story teller, and he loved to play practical jokes. One of his favorite things to say was, “I’d rather be dead and cool, than alive and uncool.” James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Left to honor his memory is his wife, Lysa Young and their children Payton, KarLee, and  Easton; his mother, Becky Young;  a sister, Jennifer, Rieson, and husband,  Justin; and his nephews, Jacob, Austin, Kolby and Karson.

Preceding James in death is his dad, Doug Young.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, December 3, 2018 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home Chapel, 766 S. Main, Lumberton, Texas 77657, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
