John Harry Murphy, 80, of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Harry was born on July 28, 1938 in Ackerman, Mississippi to Victoria and W.E. Murphy. Harry’s family moved to Texas where he grew up in the McLewis Community and he would graduate from Orangefield High School. Harry met and married the love of his life, Martha Ann Kieschnick, on May 15, 1966; they enjoyed over 52 years of marriage. Harry was a Registered Representative for ING for over 35 years, retiring in 2008. Harry was a member of Providence Church in Nederland, Texas.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and W.E. Murphy, Sr.
Harry is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Kieschnick Murphy; a daughter, Staci Duff, and husband, Glen; grandsons, Wesley Duff, and wife, Elizabeth, and Jason Duff; a great grandson, Cayson Duff; his brothers, (twin brother)Larry Murphy, and wife, Eileen, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, and Pete Murphy, and wife, Clara, of Diamondhead, Mississippi; a sister, Peggy Murphy Lanclos, and husband, Jim, of Houston, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Chapel at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at 10:00am on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Memory Gardens – Jefferson County, 3098 U.S. 69 Access Road, Nederland, Texas 77627.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting charitable donations be made to Providence Church of Nederland, TX, the American Cancer Society, or to the charitable foundation of your choice.
