Helen Ruth Clark, age 85, passed away on June 20, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1934 in Hampshire, TX to Howard A. Taylor and Lillie Belle Craigen Taylor.
Bold and exciting, Helen lived life to its fullest potential. In her blood was a love for dancing and an unquenchable passion for music. A genuinely lovable person, everyone that met her has sweet memories of her kind spirit. Helen may have been hard-headed at times, but she was one of the sweetest ladies you would ever meet and always had something to say to keep you laughing. She had an innate talent for taking something small and insignificant and turning it into something memorable. A faithful friend, she was truly loved by many. She loved and cherished her time and life with her roommates, the “Golden Girls.” Helen was laid back when it came to planning. Often, she was heard saying, “Whatever y’all want to do. Y’all make the plans, it’s fine with me!” She was also a hard worker at all she put her hands to, committing 40 years of work between Beaumont and Lumberton Walmart earning her the nickname, “mother of Walmart.”
Left to honor her memory is her niece, Terry LeBlanc of Hampshire; nephew, Harold Manuel of Kountze; her nieces and nephews: H.A. Manuel, Harold Wayne Manuel and Kathy, Mary Ruth Goss, terry Leblanc, Lester Manuel and Barbara, Joseph H. Taylor, Jr., grandnieces and nephews, and friends: Wanda Davids, Linda Bass, Dora French, and Debbie Verret Hebert, as well as countless others at Wal-mart; and dog, “Cody.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard A. and Lillie Belle Taylor; son, William “Billy” Clark; brother, J.H. Taylor “Bub;” sister, Lucy Mae Taylor Manuel; and dog, “Buddy.”
