Glen King

Glen King, age 79 of Lumberton, TX passed away on October 30, 2019. He was born on September 8, 1940 in Wadsworth, OH to Homer George King and Virginia May (Werner) King.

Loyal and loving, Glen was a sweet man and his friends always knew that he would be there for them, no matter what. Glen and Linda’s love story began at work, she wanted to learn how to drive a forklift and he was always happy to help others better themselves. They started a business together in lawn care and for three years he wore Linda’s wall down and she agreed to marry him. When the preacher was late for their wedding day, they called him and told him to get there as soon as possible, because one way or another, they were going to get married. He was her rock, her soulmate, her world, and the best thing that ever happened to her, his memory will live on at “King’s Pub” and in every selfless act that he shared with others.  

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 26 years, Linda King; sons, Richard King and wife, Tammi, John King and wife, Terrie; daughter, Michelle Apgar and husband, Dan; brother, Richard King and wife, Cathy; sister, Elaine King, Vivian Hazell; grandchildren, Kaylie King, Rebecca King, Mollie King and husband, Kyle, Tabitha Roe and husband, Nik, Sierra King, Ryan King; great-grandchildren, Clinton Roe; sister-in-laws, Joan Tyler, Judy Watson and husband, Larry Watson Sr.; brother-in-law, Terrel Tyler; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2019, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main, Lumberton, TX. Glen’s life honoring service will be on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Leatherwood Cemetery, Lumberton, TX.
