Gerry Scott

Gerry Scott, age 86, passed away Friday August 25, 2017 with her loving husband by her side. She was born on November 22, 1930  to Luther Andrew Ford and Sarah Helen Crews in Amarillo, Texas.

Gerry worked as a grade school teacher for one year after graduating from college. She met her husband while in college and they married soon after graduation.  When her children were born, she devoted her life to being a mother and wife. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children as they grew up.  Being the daughter of a Preacher allowed her to be a faithful servant by teaching bible classes for her church family.  Gerry was a quiet lady who was strong in her ways. She loved her grandchildren and they loved going over to see her.  Gerry loved to travel around the United States.  Her and her husband would travel from Florida to California and enjoy the many sites. Gerry will be missed by all her loved her but her legacy will continue.

Left to honor Gerry's memory is her loving husband of 64 years, Gary Carter Scott of Silsbee, TX; son, Kevin Scott; daughters, Celia Sansbury and husband, Tommy, of Rockwell, NC, Lynette Brown of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Shae Sansbury of Concord, NC, Chad Sansbury of Macdona,GA, Karie Frick and husband, Lee, of Salsbury, NC, Daniel Brown of Beaumont, TX, Hillary Barnes and husband, Aaron, of Humble, TX, Chelsea Brown of Carrollton, TX,; great grandchildren, Lauren, Landen, Logan, Aiden and Amelia.

Preceding Gerry in death are her parents, Luther Andrew Ford and Sarah Helen Crews; sister, Mary Clem. 

Visitation with family and friends will be 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Saturday September 9, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main, Lumberton TX. Gerry's life honoring service will be 2:00 pm,Saturday September 9, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home co-officiated by Pastor Max Dawson and Preacher Ben Lee.
