Duane and I became friends on Facebook, found we had a lot in common, being in the Navy, was one of them. I kind of gave him some insight into what I was going through with my VA disability and he offered some great advice. When I found out I had been declared 100% Service-Connected, he was happy for me. Coming from Duane, that meant the world to me. I will truly miss our conversations, most of it political.....haha! He was truly one of a kind person with a great big heart. R.I.P. Brother. My heart goes out to your family. I know it's difficult and it will be for quite some time. If you need someone to talk to, connect with me. I lost my Mom, just over 5 years ago and I still find it hard to deal with, myself.

God must have needed a helping hand when he called Duane home. A kind, gentle man who gave a lot to everyone he met, and especially to veterans. Since I live out of the country, it has been a while since I spoke with Duane, but I remember our last words....Go Navy!
