Garrett "Bill" Knight Zorn, Sr.

 Garrett “Bill” Knight Zorn, Sr., 91, of Beaumont Texas passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Bill was born on October 13, 1926 is Merryville, Louisiana.  Bill served his country faithfully and honorably in the U.S. Navy.  Bill was a utility worker with Gulf States and would retire from there after many years of service.  Bill spent the last 24 years with the love of his life, Ofelia Cook.  They met the first time in elementary school and attended high school together.  They would not meet again until their 40th High School Reunion.  Since that time, they were inseparable.  Bill enjoyed sports, his favorite high school team was Bridge City High School, and he also was a big fan of the Oakland Raiders and the Oakland A’s. 

Bill is survived by the love of his life, Ofelia Cook; a son, Garrett Knight Zorn, Jr.; a daughter, Colleen Bivens, and her family; a special “great grandson”, Michael Trosclair, and his 4 children; Ofelia’s granddaughter, Bonnie Gomez; and his best friend, Felix.

Services Honoring Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Chapel at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, Texas 77657.
