Emery Mack Anderson Jr., age 54, passed away on December 7, 2019. He was born in Beaumont, TX on April 27, 1965 and raised by loving parents, Emery Sr. and Ruby Walker Anderson.
While Emery seemed rugged to most, likely exacerbated by his passionately expressed opinions, hardy demeanor, and adventurous hobbies, it was but a thin veil covering a profoundly tender heart. The circumstances of life created his tough spirit, and no doubt he could be stubborn at times, but he accepted people the way that they were. Emery’s stalwart nature came in handy, especially when he expressed his opinions, and he had many opinions. From politics to quite a few other things, his deep intelligence would quickly display itself when he began to expound on his passions. He enjoyed food; there were few foods that he encountered that he did not like. Cooking often, he made food for family functions, barbecued on his pit, and, a lover of spice, imbued his recipes with plenty of heat. Motorcycles were a longtime hobby, often riding with many friends wherever the road took them. Emory, or “Junior” as his parents knew him, was raised in church and, even his health immobilized him, always kept his Bible next to him at home. Though he leaves this life and his loved ones behind, he awaits them, no longer suffering, until the day appointed that he sees them again.
Left to honor his memory are his loving parents, Emery Sr. and Ruby Walker Anderson; sons, Brandon Anderson of Fredericksburg, TX and Justin Cole Anderson of Fredericksburg, TX; sister, Sonja Anderson of Lumberton TX and Telicia; nieces, Lindsey Gore and husband, Rusty, of Honey Island, TX and Jordan Bean of Lumberton TX; uncle and aunt, Bobby and Bonnie Wright of Lumberton TX; and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones.
Preceding Emery in death is his mother, Theresa Mason; brother, Brad Anderson; and grandmother, Viola Mason.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Grace Church, 1130 Hwy 69, Kountze, TX 77625. Emery's life honoring service will begin at 11:00 a.m., also at the church, with Pastor Ray McNames officiating, and burial to follow at Allen Cemetery, Beech Grove, Jasper County, TX.
