Delores Ann Smith

Delores Ann Smith, 83 of Vidor, passed away Friday June 2, 2017. She was born March 27, 1934 in Nederland, Texas to the late Mr. Joseph Ovey Guidry and Mrs. Marie Ada East Guidry. She made her home in Vidor with her husband and family, working as  a self-employed caregiver during her life.  She was a feisty woman who loved the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys. Delores loved to fish and work in her garden. Spending time with her grandchildren made her very happy. Her excellent cooking skills are a treasured memory for all her loved ones.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, James R Smith; sons, Gary Smith, Michael Smith, Randy Smith and Clint Smith; brothers, J.C Guidry, Dalton Guidry, Donald Guidry, Roland Guidry, and Olen Maxell.

She is survived by her sons, Butter Smith and Steven Smith of Vidor; daughter, Penny Bond and husband Casey of Vidor; sister, Joyce Hankins of Fred; brother Darrell Maxwell and wife Nancy of Vidor; grandchildren, Stormy, Dillon, Jake, Chad, Josh, Josie, April, Jayden, Jaycee, Matthew, Erika, Heather, and Colby; and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Her family will receive friends Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jeremy Walton. Internment will follow at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Vidor.

Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Bond, Colby Smith, Dillon Smith, Joshua Smith, Matthew Smith, Jarid Phillips,and Jake Smith.
