Deborah Kay Platt, 64, of Kountze, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Deborah was born on November 25, 1953 in Ft. Worth, Texas to James Earl and Ethel Marion Tucker. Debbie Tucker, as she was known in school, graduated from Warren High School in 1972. Deborah married the love of her life, Dennis Platt, on New Year’s Eve, 1973; they enjoyed over 44 years of marriage.
Deborah was known by her family for making lists, lots and lots of lists; she used these to plan events and keep herself and everyone organized. She loved spending time on the river and fishing. Deborah was fun-loving and enjoyed traveling and classic rock music. She was a great mother, and grandmother and cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, James Earl and Ethel Marion Tucker.
Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Platt; children, Melissa Stanley, and husband, Darrell, of Buna, and Jeff Platt, and wife, Aasta, of Kountze; grandchildren, Cheyenne Platt, Weston Platt, and Jessica Stanley.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 in the Chapel at Lumberton Family Funeral Home from 10:00am to 11:00am. A Life Honoring Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:00am. Graveside services will be at Laurel Sudduth Bluff Cemetery in Buna at 2pm on Friday, March 16, 2018.
Serving the family as Pallbearers will be Weston Platt, David Tweedel, CP Williams, John Hartless, Russell Myers, and Chuck Wilson.
