Charles Turnage

             Reverend Charles Wayne Turnage

Rev. Charles Turnage passed away from this life on March 13, 2019. He was born to Wilson Connie Turnage and Opal Louise (Morgan) on November 12, 1946 in Beaumont, TX.

Charles was selfless, full of integrity, and dedicated to his family and to the Kingdom of God. When you talked to Charles you had his undivided attention and interest, even if it disrupted his schedule; which was not an uncommon occurrence. Charles married the love of his life on August 4, 1972 and enjoyed 46 years of serving the Lord and raising their family. After 22 years as a minister in various places, in 1999 Charles and Phyllis arrived back in Beaumont, TX where they became the Co-Pastors of Victory Temple. It was easy to see why Charles was called to minister the Gospel, he radiated love in every turn that life presented. He lived what he preached, day in and day out, never faltering from his faith. One of the greatest joys that Charles ever received was God’s fulfilled promise of his grandchild, Allie Grace. While the ministry was his mission, his family was his treasure on this earth. He happily made sacrifices to give them the very best in every facet possible, when it came to providing for his family, only the best was sufficient. Charles touched countless lives through his walk with God, he was the epitome of a Godly man and a pillar in the Kingdom of God. He will be greatly missed on this earth as he is welcomed in the arms of the everlasting Father.

Left to honor his memory is his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis Turnage; son, Charles “Chad” Turnage; daughter, Laura “Turnage” Desai and husband, Umang “UD”; granddaughter, Allie Grace Desai; brothers, Robert Turnage and wife, Brenda, Gary Turnage; sisters, Connie Dougharty, Kathryn McClendon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held for family and friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Victory Temple, 2630 S. 11 St. Beaumont, TX. A service honoring the life of Charles Wayne Turnage will commence at 2:00pm at Victory Temple. Immediately following the service, a procession will be led to Forest Lawn Cemetery, where Charles will be laid to rest.
