Ammer Lorse Johnson, age 89 of Orange, TX, passed away on October 23, 2019. She was born on August 30, 1930 in Liberty, TX to Author Kenner and Beatrice Searls.
One of a kind, she loved to cook and crochet, but her greatest love was her family. She was a devout member of Mount Calvary in Orange, TX and enjoyed her hats and dressing up for Sunday services, her love for the Lord was easy to see and she never missed a Sunday service until her sickness prevented her from attending. She was quiet yet never met a stranger, truly a wonderful soul to be around. She was a caring mother of four children, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was nicknamed “MeMommie” by her littlest ones. Her life was a testament of love and she was a beacon of example for her family, she will be greatly missed by the many hearts she touched.
Left to honor her memory is her sons, Junius Johnson Jr. of Orange, TX, and Gerald Johnson of Orange, TX; daughters, Evelyn Collins of Orange, TX, and Debra Broussard and husband, Nathan of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Joseph Collins, Athena Jefferson and husband, Waymond, Robert Collins and wife, Jade, Ursula Johnson Gray, Kenneth Cameron Jr., Nathaniel M. Broussard; great-grandchildren, Marina Collins, Joseph Collins III and wife, Kelsey, Athenee L. Jefferson, Jalen Jefferson, Dillon Gray, Davin Gray, Jaden Collins, and Chloe Collins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Junius Johnson Sr., and her parents.
Serving as pallbearers, will be; grandson, Robert Collins; grandson-in-law, Waymond Jefferson; son-in-law, Nathan Broussard; grandson, Kenneth Cameron Jr.; grandson, Nathaniel Broussard; family-friend, Larry Broussard. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Johnson, Junius Johnson Jr., Joseph Collins, Dylon Gray, Divin Gray, Joseph Collins Jr. III, Jalen Jefferson, and Jaden Collins.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to family, friends, the staff at Focus Care of Orange, Kindred Hospice, all the doctors, nurses, staff, and clergymen for the exceptional care of their mom.
To honor Mrs. Johnson's life the family has planned a time of visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 am at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Orange, TX. A life honoring funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Mount Calvary in Orange, TX with Dr. John H. Smith, Jr. presiding. Internment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Orange, TX.
