Alena Marian Hood

Alena Marian Hood, 84, of Silsbee, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Alena was born in Beaumont, Texas on March 10, 1934 to Charles and Florence Falgout.

Alena loved to cook, so much so that she worked as one for 25 years in two different nursing homes. She also worked as a cashier for Lamar University Setzer Center. Besides her love of cooking, Alena also loved to watch TV, play games, drink her daily coffee, and read her Bible. Attending church was also very important to her.

Alena is preceded in death by her husband Everett Warren Hood; her daughter Florence Chance; her brother Charles Falgout, Sr.; and her parents Charles and Florence Falgout.

Left to honor Alena’s memory are her children; son Robert G. Hood of Vidor, TX; daughter Debra Rich and husband Tyra of Silsbee, Texas; son Everett L. Hood of Houston, Texas. Her brother Lloyd Falgout of Vidor, Texas and her sister Carolyn Yellott of Waskom, Texas. Her grandchildren Kim Welch, Tammy Jones, Brandie Fussell, Adam Chance, Miranda Rich, Brenna Hood, Trevor Rich and Landon Hood. Her great-grandchildren Russell and Logan Welch, Randy and Noah Fussell, and Tiffany and Scotty Jones. She is also survived by numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

Pallbearers: Bo Falgout, Shawn Falgout, Trevor Rich, Adam Chance, Robert Hood, and Everett Hood.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lumberton Family Funeral Home Chapel. A life honoring service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.
